Chris' USA
Chris’ USA – Home of the 3-legged Chicken

Well, old Foghorn Leghorn may have to visit Chris’ USA, because sure enough, at Chris’ he WILL spot the rare and wonderful three-legged chicken! Yessiree! As sure as Foghorn is a Southern Gentlechicken , Chris’ serves up a golden broasted half chicken that’s nestled among crispy French fries. And, what’s that? Sure enough, buried in this heap o’ chicken is an extra leg!

We haven’t figured out yet why Chris’ limits their Jumbo Shrimp to ten per person, but we suspect it’s because they want you to save room for the generous portions they serve.

Try a juicy half-pound burger. (I say, son, that’s HALF pound, meanin’ it’s twice the size of its smaller cousin the quarter pounder.) Fixin’s include lettuce, tomato, bacon and onions, raw or fried. (Aw c’mon a few onions never hurt anyone! What’s a little heartburn among friends?) You can choose your cheese, too: American, Swiss or Pepper Jack. Now there’s a lunch that’ll stick to your ribs.

Then there’s Chris’ must-try Friday fish fry which gives you choices of Beer Battered Cod or Lake Perch (oh yeah! Try that perch!). Both are served with coleslaw, fries and the exclusively Wisconsin, ever-present rye bread. You can tell you’re in Wisconsin when you see local establishments’ parking lots three deep on a Friday night. There’s no other state in the union that can imitate the infamous Wisconsin Friday Fish Fry. And that’s a fact.

With its friendly atmosphere and clean, inviting surroundings, you’ll want to check out Chris’ real soon. You can’t miss Chris’ USA on the north side of Burlington , as you need only look for a couple of big yellow painted chickens. Can’t miss ‘em. They’re the ones dancing on the wall of the Chicken Coop out back.
