B.J. Wentker's
|
As only the pro's can do. . .
Open the door to B.J. Wentker’s and you’ve entered – not a mere restaurant – but a world of pure artistry. The vast, elegant bar sets the mood with its handsome carvings and speaks volumes about character and distinction. Yes, you think, this is the mood I’m after.
Is it romantic? Perhaps that word will do, but it doesn’t factor in the desire you have to phone friends for an impromptu gathering ‘round a small table there in that triangle-shaped room . . . to share conversation, imported beers, excellent wines and refreshing concoctions prepared to perfection.
Is it friendly? You bet. But far beyond genial, this staff elevates the concept of service to a higher plane. From your greeting at the door to the final wave good-bye, you know that these are professionals who are delighted to have you there and put forth every effort to make your experience extraordinary.
And the food. Oh my. . . here you can lunch on hazelnut-encrusted breast of chicken nestled happily in its Frangelico cream sauce, while your less-adventurous companions have their “usual burger” – the departure from “usual” being evident when it arrives exquisitely prepared and masterfully presented.
Ah, but is it supper you’re wanting? Anticipating just another restaurant, you become aware during your meal that you’re relishing each bite of the delightful culinary creation – prepared by Chef Eric Peterson, a well-deserved award winner, to be sure -- that’s been placed before you. Perhaps it’s his imaginative blending of spices. Perhaps it’s the depth of complementary flavors. Could it be the presentation? Of course, it’s all of the above. . .
Most definitely it’s the atmosphere, the cuisine, the understated elegance that seals your intention to return again and again to partake of the welcome extended by B.J. Wentker’s. You’ll find B.J.’s at 230 Milwaukee Avenue (the intersection of Hwy 36 and P) on the west side of Burlington.
